To deepen the reform of undergraduate education and teaching and to steadily advance the revision of the 2025 undergraduate talent cultivation plan, systematically optimize the curriculum system and faculty allocation, and comprehensively enhance the quality of undergraduate talent cultivation, the School of Intelligent Science and Technology held a grand symposium on undergraduate education and teaching reform and the 2025 undergraduate talent cultivation plan at the Taihu International Conference Center in Suzhou from July 27th to 28th, 2025. Our school specially invited teaching experts, including Zhao Jianhua, the undergraduate teaching dean of the School of Computer Science, and Shen Furao, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Artificial Intelligence, as well as the members of our school's teaching committee, Dai Wangzhou, Yuan Xiaotong, Xie Jin, Zhang Shaoqun, Guo Lanzhe, Zhu Hao, and Shi Jieqi, along with all the teachers of the school to attend this meeting. They engaged in in-depth exchanges around core issues such as the course structure, faculty arrangement, and teaching syllabus, to build consensus and plan the blueprint for the new stage of undergraduate education and teaching reform.
On the morning of July 27th, Dai Wangzhou, the dean of teaching at the college, gave a special report on the new training program. He systematically expounded on the program from four aspects: the basic situation of the program, the formulation ideas and process, the main changes and highlights. He focused on introducing the innovative measures of the new program in the design of the curriculum system and the allocation of teaching resources. Then the meeting entered the course application review stage for the instructors. The teaching committee and the expert group comprehensively reviewed the course applications from multiple aspects such as the discipline development plan, the course content setting, and the teaching ability of the instructors. They scientifically coordinated the discipline direction and the teaching resources. After a full day of discussion, the final list of course group leaders and instructors was determined, laying a solid foundation for the course construction of the new program.
On the morning of the 28th, Dai Wangzhou systematically explained the new curriculum allocation plan to the participating teachers, and particularly introduced the application ideas of the knowledge graph in the curriculum system and detailed the construction methods. On the morning of the 28th, Dai Wangzhou systematically explained the new curriculum allocation plan to the participating teachers. He also highlighted the application ideas of the knowledge graph in the curriculum system and detailed the construction methods. He emphasized that the new plan will achieve the systematic integration of course content through the knowledge graph technology, ensuring the organic connection between various professional courses, and providing new ideas for improving teaching quality. This seminar has achieved a series of significant results, making breakthroughs in aspects such as the revision of the training plan, the optimization of faculty allocation, and the construction of the teaching system. The college has systematically improved the curriculum setting in the new training plan, ensuring the scientificity and cutting-edge nature of courses for all majors. By coordinating the research expertise and teaching experience of teachers, a rational allocation of faculty resources has been achieved. At the same time, based on this discussion, the college will build a knowledge graph system for talent cultivation. This graph, through intelligent correlation analysis, can accurately identify the overlaps and omissions in course content, providing scientific basis for optimizing the course structure and conducting comprehensive evaluations of students' professional qualities. Combined with the analysis of academic learning behaviors, personalized growth paths can be customized for students, and precise teaching diagnosis support can be provided to teachers, promoting the dynamic optimization of teaching strategies and forming a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement in the quality of talent cultivation.
Our university will take this seminar as an opportunity to continuously deepen educational and teaching reforms, and continuously improve the quality of undergraduate education. This will provide strong talent support for the new engineering construction of Nanjing University's Suzhou Campus and the national economic and social development.
