Event: Lecture by Prof. Enrique Romero

 NJU International Fellowship Initiative Lecture

A gas transport journey through host rocks and engineered gas-permeable systems

Time: July 10, 2025(Thursday) 14:00

Location: A205, School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Xianlin Campus

Speaker: Dr. Enrique Romero is a Full Professor of Geotechnical Engineering affiliated with "Soil and Rock Mechanics" research group at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), and a Full Research Professor associated with "Geomechanics Group" at the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (Spain). He is also Head of the Geotechnical Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UPC; Chair of the Technical Committee TC106 on Unsaturated Soils of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE); and a member of the editorial committee of several international journals: Géotechnique, Acta Geotechnica, and Geomechanics for Energy and the Environment. His research focuses on characterising the constitutive behaviour of geomaterials through advanced multi-physics and multi-scale experimental techniques, and on constitutive modelling of soil behaviour, particularly thermo-hydro-mechanical and chemical coupled models.
