To further strengthen the emotional bonds among alumni and create a platform for interaction, the Nanjing Alumni Association of the Nanjing University Alumni Association funded the expansion of the Alumni Home. On May 20, 2025, coinciding with the 123rd anniversary of the founding of Nanjing University, Alumni Home was officially opened. Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and President of the Nanjing University Alumni Association, attended the event.

Tan Zhemin presented a certificate of appreciation to Tao Wei, President of the Nanjing Alumni Association and alumnus of the 1983 Economics class.

Tao Wei introduced the development of the Nanjing Alumni Association since its establishment in 2023. He stated that the association always remembers its original mission of "serving alumni, serving the alma mater, and serving society," collaborating with the alumni association to create a space and spiritual home for alumni activities. With enthusiastic participation and strong support from local alumni, the Nanjing Alumni Association has become one of the most active local alumni associations. He hopes that the Alumni Home could be as a link to gather the wisdom and strength of NJU alumni worldwide, enabling them to jointly write a new chapter in the integrated development of the alma mater and alumni endeavors.

Suo Wenbin, Vice President of Nanjing University and Vice President of the Nanjing University Alumni Association, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Nanjing Alumni Association, generous alumni donors, and supportive partners. He stated that the Alumni Home, not only extends the campus space but also embodies the spirit of the NJU community. Every brick and piece of furniture reflects the deep affection alumni have for their alma mater. The Alumni Home and NJU will always be a warm harbor for each alumnus. He looks forward to alumni and the alma mater joining hands to contribute to the construction of the "First Nanjing University" in the new era.

Feng Fan, Director of the Alumni Affairs Office and Secretary-General of the Alumni Association, chaired the ceremony and introduced the Alumni Home project.
In October 2023, NJU decided to start the expansion project of the Alumni Home on the first floor of the Duxia Library on Xianlin campus, entrusting the Nanjing Alumni Association with the relevant construction work. The Nanjing Alumni Association responded actively and quickly, gathering alumni strength through crowdfunding, planning scientifically, and constructing with care, completing the expansion in just over a year. The new Alumni Home covers an area of about 1,100 square meters, continuing the architectural aesthetics of the library as a "temple of knowledge," and achieving a leap from a single function to diverse services. The expanded space is managed according to the "sharing" principle, primarily serving alumni activities for free while meeting other functional needs of the university.
