To thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the construction of a learning society and the outline for building a leading country in education, the Ministry of Education held a theme event on digital empowerment for the construction of a learning society at the Open University of China on June 26. The event aimed to transform the blueprint for building a learning society into feasible plans and construction diagrams, ensuring the high-quality implementation of pilot tasks under the three-year action plan. Huai Jinpeng, Party Secretary and Minister of Education, attended the event and delivered a speech.



Wu Yan, Vice Minister of Education, announced the launch of the "Lifelong Learning Quality Resource Sharing Initiative." Wang Guangyan, Vice Minister of Education, presided over the event. The pilot work on digital empowerment for building a learning society was officially launched during the event, accompanied by the release of resources and functional upgrades for the National Smart Education Platform. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech.
Tan Tieniu stated that Nanjing University is closely aligned with the goal of comprehensively establishing a ubiquitous and accessible lifelong education system as part of the mission to build a leading country in education. The university actively explores pathways for digital empowerment in lifelong education, continuously expands high-quality educational resources, and accelerates the construction of a lifelong education service system that is extensive, high-quality, and diverse in its models. Looking ahead, NJU will steadfastly advance digital empowerment for lifelong education. The university aims to make learning resources richer and of higher quality, and learning methods more flexible and convenient, contributing more "NJU's wisdom" and "NJU'S models" to the construction of an education system that serves lifelong learning for all.
