MATLAB installation guide for Nanjing University
Preparation and precautions before software installation:
* Ensure the computer installed MATLAB meets the minimum hardware configuration and system requirements which you can refer to below link:

* Please turn off system firewall before installing software.
* End user with Individual license need to reactivate the license at one specific intervals. After license expiration, it will automatically connect to MathWorks server. If the user is still a valid university faculty member or student, the user only needs to click ‘OK’ when the activation alert appears.

Installation guide for Individual License (Recommended)
1.Register a MathWorks account
Visit MathWorks login page: http://mathworks.com/login
Click ‘Create Account’:
2.Complete account profile information
Please make sure enter the Email Address with university email address (email suffix includes @nju.edu.cn; @smail.nju.edu.cn; @jlxy.nju.edu.cn). For the ‘Which best describes you?’, faculty members and students select ‘Teaching or research in academia’ and ‘Student’ respectively
MathWorks will automatically send a verification mail to the email address. Please open the mail in the mail inbox. Click the button of ‘Verify your email’ (Note: If the verification mail can’t be found in the inbox, please check from the spam box). Then enter the personal information in the profile creating page.
3.Confirm the existence of the Individual license after logging in the MathWorks account
4.If the license doesn’t exist, please manually link the account to the license
Log in to the account, click the name in the upper right corner, then click ‘Link License’.
Enter the MATLAB Activation Key under ‘License Number* or Activation Key’:

5.Software download
Please obtain the installation media from the following downloads. Installation media obtained by other means can’t be verified of its legality, which may result in inactivation and network security risks to your computer.
Campus high speed download link:
Windows: /nju/smu_download/matlab/R2019a/R2019a_Windows.iso
Linux: /nju/smu_download/matlab/R2019a/R2019a_Linux.iso
MacOS: /nju/smu_download/matlab/R2019a/matlab_R2019a_maci64.dmg
Then select installation media of required computer platform. Campus high speed download is recommended for high speed download.

6.Start the installer
The installation process is slightly different for different computer platforms
* Windows: Unzip ISO and then click ‘setup.exe’
* MacOS: Double click ‘InstallForMacOSX.app’
* Linux: Execute setup commands ‘./install’
Select ‘Log in with a MathWorks Account’.
Click ‘Next’，Accept the ‘License Agreement’
7.Sign in MathWorks account
Please enter university email address of Nanjing University (email suffix includes @nju.edu.cn; @smail.nju.edu.cn; @jlxy.nju.edu.cn ). Then follow the prompts in the installer.
8.Select License
Select the associated license with label as ‘Individual’ in the list.
9.Specify installation folder
Generally, the default folder is recommended.
10.Specify products to install
Select the products you may use or all of them.
11.Execute the installation
It is recommended to add shortcut to desktop, so that the MATLAB shortcut would appear in the desktop when installation completes. Then click ‘Next’ to continue the installation and wait for the completion.
12.Activate software
When the installation successfully completes, tick ‘Activate MATLAB’ then click ‘Next’.
Click ‘Next’ on the page of ‘MathWorks Software Activation’. Select the authentication option (‘Authorized the computer now’ is recommended for personal computer).
Leave the default value on the page of ‘User Name’. Then click ‘Next’.
Click ‘Confirm’ on the page of ‘Confirmation’ and wait for the completion of activation.
